Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Translator in Mykolaiv.
About the job
The Translator is one of key roles in support services department. This role will support on any translation/interpretation request of the team for the internal/external meeting, program field visit activities. Responsible to ensure all translation/interpretation request are accurately executed both oral and written translation.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Provision of interpretation between national and international DRC staff, as well as with government officials as needed.
- Provide accurate translations, applying the principles of accuracy, confidentiality and impartiality at all time.
- Provide written translation of documents from Ukrainian and/or Russian into English and vice versa.
- Participate in the translation of trainings and translate training materials/tools, communications, etc.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have proven translation/interpretation work background and excellent communication skills working in the multi-cultural enviroment. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
- University degree in philology, translation or any other relevant field.
- Work experience: Minimum 2 years of practical experience in interpreting and translation or any other relevant field.
- Languages: Fluent in Ukrainian, Advanced level of English or higher.
- Computer literacy: Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (with focus on Excel and Word).
Desirable
- Previous experience with International NGO.
- Holder of translation/interpreter certificate is an advantage.
- Knowledge in ERP Dynamic is an added value.

Contract length: 12 months renewable depending on performance and funding after successful completion of 3 months probation period
