ABOUT THE JOB
- The post of EOD/NTS Operator refers to a trained DRC-HDP employee, who has passed EOD training and NTS course successfully and appointed to an EOD/NTS Team. The two main objectives in the position are.
- 1) Safe work in accordance with SOPs.
- 2) Achievement of required levels of productivity at daily work.
Responsibilities:
- Handling, maintenance, and fault reporting of equipment assigned.
- EOD/NTS operator shall comment to and be on time to his job.
- EOD/NTS Operator shall always consult with EOD/NTS Team Leader.
- Conduct personal Quality Assurance checks as described in QA/QC SOP.
- Conduct all EOD, and Non-Technical Survey activities as detailed in HDP SOPs.
- Report achievements and results of hourly and daily clearance efforts to the EOD/NTS Team Leader.
- Report problems and delays with clearance to the Team Leader.
- During the performance of EOD/NTS Team Operation no dialing with any items before contacting of EOD/NTS Team Leader.
- Mapping and measurement of area where the team to do NTS survey as per the TL order.
- Maintain a good liaison and communication with local authorities and the community during the operation.
- Respond to the EO survivors by collecting the EO reports through the DRC Emergency Victim Assistance (EVA) program.
- Supporting of EOD/NTS Team Leader in his daily work activities EOD/NTS Tasks.
- Perform any other task as instructed by the Team Leader.
NTS Specific Tasks:
- NTS operator shall comment to and be on time to his job.
- NTS Operator shall always consult in conducting of each NTS Step with EOD/NTS Team Leader.
- Estimate the AIM/EO contamination (types of AIM/EO expected and it's status).
- During the NTS Operation physical involvement is strictly prohibited according to the HDP NTS SOP.
- Conduct Non-Technical Survey activities as detailed in HDP SOPs.
- Report achievements and results of hourly and daily clearance efforts to the EOD/NTS Team Leader.
- During the performance of NTS Team Operation no dialing and touching with any items.
- Collect information on the conflict/site history.
- Perform any other task as instructed by the EOD/NTS Team Leader.
Experience and technical competencies: (include years of experience)
- 3 years experience in the mine action program (Clearance, EOD/NTS operation).
- Have to be qualified EOD IMAS level 2
- Have to be qualified NTS.
- Have to be qualified for basic Demining/clearance
Education/ Qualification (include certificates, licenses etc.)
- High school (Certificates)
Languages: (indicate fluency level)
- Pashto and Dari –fluency
- Basic English language
