DRC is looking for Finance Senior Officer who is responsible for supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and grant financial management. The role ensures timely, accurate budget development, monthly BFU consolidation, and high-quality donor reporting, while coordinating closely with program, grants, and support teams. The position contributes to data accuracy in Dynamics, partner support, and financial compliance.
About job:
The individual will report directly to the Finance Manager. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Consolidate operational and proposal budgets in coordination with Grants, Program teams, and the Finance Manager.
- Support the development, updating, and monitoring of the Master Budget, ensuring alignment with ongoing projects and country needs.
- Ensure monthly completion of the BFU cycle, including receiving inputs from budget holders and clarifying required realignments or re-bookings.
- Review BFUs and highlight potential adjustments, overspend risks, and mitigation actions, and discuss with the Finance Manager.
- Maintain and update staff cost allocation, resource scheduling, and shared cost allocation sheets, and circulate them monthly to budget holders.
- Prepare annual DRC budgets/prognosis and reconcile data with Dynamics.
- Assist in preparing financial compliance checklists for all grants and support budget holders in understanding donor requirements.
- Participate in project kick-off and closure meetings when required.
Dynamics (ERP) Financial Responsibilities
- Support the correct use of Dynamics for country and field finance staff, including coaching and troubleshooting.
- Ensure high data accuracy in Dynamics by monitoring consistency, completeness, and compliance with DRC standards.
- Oversee correct generation and follow-up of timesheets/resource scheduling each month.
- Support accounting-related validations in Dynamics when required.
Financial Reporting
- Coordinate with the Grants Unit to ensure the reporting calendar is always updated and shared with relevant teams and partners.
- Develop internal action plans aligned with reporting deadlines and follow up proactively with budget holders, Grants, and Program teams to ensure timely submissions.
- Ensure all budgets have BFUs and forecasts covering the full grant duration, allowing clear year-to-year comparison and monitoring.
- Support the preparation of donor financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with donor rules.
Partners Management:
- Support finance team with partners / CBO in budget preparation process, BFU meeting with partners and donor reporting to ensure timely and accurate reporting to donors.
- Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as requested by the Manager
About you
To be successful in this role we expect that you possess the following:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance is a requirement. Certification in related field is a plus.
- Min. 3 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and grant financial management.
- Strong experience working with ERP systems (mandatory), preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
- Solid understanding of donor reporting requirements, budgeting rules, and compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling).
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage heavy workloads and perform under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication with stakeholder & coordination skills
- Full professional proficiency in English and Arabic
