The IT Specialist is responsible for delivering specialized IT projects and advisory services, contributing to strategy, objectives, and quality assurance within IT operations. The role includes configuring, implementing, and maintaining IT technologies to ensure the efficient administration of hardware, software, and local networks. The IT Specialist will provide high-quality IT support and training, identify optimal IT solutions, and enable field offices to independently manage DRC ICT systems, ensuring seamless reporting and collaboration across sectors.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Maintenance

Provide IT technical support services to end-users.

Develop and manage SoPs for troubleshooting, resolutions, and documentation of user issues.

Serve as the primary focal point for IT issues at the regional level.

Ensure compliant OS installation and usage of DRC’s official tools (e.g., cloud storage).

Configure and maintain security systems (LAN/WAN, Firewall, remote access) aligned with DRC Service Level Standards.
Implementation & Training

Analyze local requirements and implement global IT systems and applications.

Create induction materials and user guides for new staff.
-
Deliver IT training to field offices and ensure the implementation of IT focal point systems.

Support DRC management in digitalization initiatives and achieving Go Green objectives.
Resource Management

Manage IT equipment, assets, and tracking systems, including liquidations.

Coordinate IT resources, service providers, and procurements in alignment with budgetary considerations.

Periodically check field offices for IT support and provide technical advice on connectivity solutions.
System Development

Implement, upgrade, and maintain software systems per DRC standards.

Document and develop local IT solutions to meet organizational needs.

Support the implementation of ICT components in business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Strategic Contributions

Analyze IT trends, recommend strategies, and align local practices with global policies.

Collaborate with management to ensure IT needs align with organizational objectives.

Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to optimize IT solutions.
Team Leadership

Manage and mentor IT staff, set KPIs, and oversee performance.

Facilitate knowledge transfer to enhance IT understanding across the organization.
Experience & Technical Skills

Minimum 5 years of experience in computer and network administration with end-user support.

Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Office Suite, cloud technologies, and Windows OS.

Familiarity with digitization, satellite equipment, VSATs, and GSM networks for data connectivity.

Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.

Strong coordination and communication skills, with a team-focused approach.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

Equivalent professional experience combined with relevant certifications may be considered.
Language Requirements

Fluency in English (verbal and written).

Basic knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
